Healthy Apple Muffins Recipe

These Healthy Apple Muffins are brimming with tasty and nutritious ingredients! Due to the fact that each muffin contains only 151 calories, they are ideal for serving as a healthful grab-and-go snack or holiday breakfast option.

This is my favorite time of the year! It’s that time of year again: holiday time! I look forward to drinking warm spiced wine over the winter holidays more than anything else. My favorite part? The scrumptious meals served for breakfast!

One of my go-to muffin recipes is for whole grain apple muffins, and you won’t believe how good for you they are until you try them. They are delectably tasty, but eating them won’t leave you feeling guilty in the least. These muffins are the perfect baked treat to make for the holidays because they are easy to make, contain a short ingredient list packed of healthy ingredients, and are delicious.

    Ingredient

    Apple –

You can use whichever apple you like most, as they are all acceptable! Simply ensure that it has been peeled, cored, and grated before using.

    Herbs and spices –

Cinnamon and nutmeg are going to be crushed up and used as a mixture in this recipe!

    Sweeteners –

In place of the granulated sugar that is typically called for in muffin recipes, we are going to add some honey instead. You can substitute agave. In addition to that, I’m going to use some brown sugar.

    Lemon Juice –

Always go for the fresh option! Our muffins are going to benefit from this in terms of both flavor and appearance.

    Flour –

In order to make this dish as nutritious as possible, we are making use of both whole wheat flour and wheat bran flour in coarse form. A baked dish made using whole wheat flour will have a deeper color, will be packed with the flavor of wheat, and will be more dense and savory.

    Meal from Almonds –

Almond meal is just almonds that have been ground to a very fine powder. Baking goods suitable for people following low-carbohydrate diets have recently seen an increased demand for it. Baked items benefit from both its moistness and its rich, nutty flavor. More information can be found under “Frequently Asked Questions and Insider Advice”!

    Applesauce –

Applesauce will be used in place of oil or butter in this recipe; nevertheless, I am confident that you won’t be able to detect the difference. This is a method that I employ frequently, most notably in the preparation of my banana bread.

    Canola Oil –

In this recipe, we are just going to be using a small amount of oil. The addition of oil to the muffin batter will make the baking process run more smoothly.

    Eggs –

Please certain that they are separated, since just the whites will do.

    Vanilla Extract –

It’s possible that our muffins might have a less than satisfying flavor if we didn’t include the vanilla, so don’t skip this ingredient!

    Extras –

Granola and chopped walnuts, please! These will impart taste and texture to our muffins in equal measure.

How To Make Apple Muffins That Are Good For You

    Prep:

Bring the temperature in the oven up to 350 degrees. Prepare a muffin tin by lining it with paper liners and giving them a light coating of cooking spray.

    Mix the Ingredients Together:

Grated apple, honey, lemon juice, and a quarter of a teaspoon of cinnamon should be mixed together in a small basin. Mix thoroughly, then put to the side.

    Blend the Dry Ingredients Together:

Whisking everything together in a medium basin, add whole wheat flour, bran, almond meal, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.

    Mix Wet Ingredients:

Combine the applesauce, oil, egg whites, brown sugar, and vanilla in a separate basin before adding it to the bigger bowl. Whisk until everything is evenly combined. You could also do this with your mixer if you wanted to.

    Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients:

Whisk in the flour mixture gradually while continuing to do so until it is completely incorporated. Combine the chopped apples and walnuts before serving.

    Bake:

After the batter has been distributed among the muffin cups, sprinkle between a half and a full teaspoon of granola on top of each one. Baking time should be around 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. After allowing them to cool for ten minutes in the muffin pan, remove them and place them on a wire rack to continue cooling until they are ready to be eaten.

    Storing

The best way to preserve muffins or any other sort of fast bread is to put them in a bag that can be sealed and keep them at room temperature. This method works for any kind of quick bread. This will keep them fresh for anywhere between three and five days.

    FREEZING

Freezing muffins of any kind is a rather simple process. If you wrap your apple muffins in aluminum foil, store them in a large freezer bag, and then place the bag or container in an airtight container, your apple muffins will keep for three months!

When it is time to reheat them, all that is required is to put them in the microwave for one minute, or until they are completely hot.
