After labor dispute, Chipotle will pay $20 million to employees

Chipotle has reached a settlement with New York City workers that will pay them $20 million for labour breaches. 

According to the city, the company altered the work schedules of its employees. 

Would not permit them to use any sick leave they had accumulated. 

According to Chipotle, the settlement demonstrates that the company is "committed to creating opportunities for all of our team members." 

Chipotle has come to an arrangement with the city of New York City to compensate local employees to the tune of almost $20 million. 

For what the city claims were violations of scheduling & sick leave policies. 

According to a statement released by the mayor's office, the settlement would be distributed to 13,000 current. 

Former Chipotle employees who were affected by the offences, in addition to another $1 million in civil fines. 

It was the largest action ever brought by New York City under the Fair Workweek statute, & it claimed that Chipotle owed its employees $150 million in back pay. 

At the time, the lawsuit was brought against Chipotle. According to a statement released by the mayor's office.
