Starbucks just teased changes to its rewards program

According to Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks, a new web3 programme for incentives will soon be introduced. 

The alterations will be discussed during the Starbucks Investor Day event that will take place in September.

Other franchises, such as McDonald's, Wendy's, & Chipotle, have also established a presence in web3 by way of the metaverse. 

During its earnings call for the third quarter, Starbucks revealed that the world-famous coffee shop's rewards programme would be undergoing some revisions in the near future. 

At Starbucks Investor Day on September 13, interim CEO Howard Schultz claimed the company will introduce a "interesting new digital effort" that expands on the rewards platform. 

That is currently being used by the chain. However, he did not provide too many specifics about the initiative. 

Starbucks will have more opportunities to interact with its consumers as a result of the "new Web 3 enabled project," 

Which, according to Schultz, will also help build the "digital third place community." 

New prizes that can be redeemed with stars, such as "one-of-a-kind experiences that you can't get anywhere else".
